How It Works

Smart temperature regulation with PCM

Our ClimaShift™ Cooling Sleep Overlay uses Phase Change Material (PCM) that absorbs excess body heat when you get too warm, and releases it when you cool down. It is engineered with a melting activation/reaction temperature between 28°C to 33°C. While your core body temperature is around 37°C, your skin surface temperature typically rests between 31°C and 35°C. By setting the PCM transition point just below skin temperature, the pad begins absorbing heat the exact second you lie down. The sweet spot for comfortable sleep is a microclimate (the pocket of air between your skin and the blanket) of 31°C to 33°C with low humidity. The PCM actively melts to soak up spike heat whenever your skin microclimate tries to push past this comfortable limit.
